If you are looking for the perfect man who is a “real” man who is still gushy and treats you like a lady, then you need a tradesman specifically a contractor.
There is nothing better than having a contractor husband. Although there can be some downsides… all of the pros definitely make up for the cons!
I will go into the exact reasons why a contractor makes the perfect mate for life in the post below… hint it mostly has to do with his hands😉!
Why contractors are the best husbands
Have you ever questioned a dirty man with work boots, calluses on his hands, most likely dirt on his face with bandaged fingers when they pulled up to get their kids from school or you ran into them at the gas station?
If you have I will admit I was like that in my younger years as well before I really knew the blessing of having a hard-working man in your life.
That dirty man with rough hands and holes in his jeans was up before the sun came out while you were still lying in your cozy bed two hours before you even had to THINK about waking up. While you have time to make your breakfast and lay it out on your plate all cute he had to rush in the morning just to get ready and grab something on the go quick to be at the job site by six o’clock that is 45 minutes away.
Then while he’s at work he is bustin’ his butt doing hard manual labor so he can make a name for himself and keep providing for his family. Being a contractor is not only a physically intense job but there is also hard mental tasks to figure out.
Then after 10-plus hours working in the rain, snow, sleet, wind, and sun, he drives home to his family, getting home again once the sun has set to maybe enjoy 2-4 hours of family time just to wake up and do it all over again.
It is no easy job being a man and providing for his family but they do it because of the love and duty they have to provide for their family. That love and need to provide is so strong that they even sacrifice spending time with them so that they can have a better life.
That ladies is dedication and sacrifice!
Make sure to thank your hard-working man today. Even though he is all rough and tough on the outside he still needs to hear that all of his hard work is not going unnoticed. And that in your eyes he is the best man in the world for providing for you and your family.
Men like to be validated as much if not more than women because they rarely hear it. They are just “expected” to do the hard work. Let’s stop expecting and really thank the men in our lives for all they do for us! Because honey he doesn’t have to do squat!! He could be sitting at home playing video games but he chooses the harder lifestyle so you can live like a princess!
Best Contractor Qualities
Now, contractors are not great husbands just because they go out and put in the work and long hours BUT because of the qualities they have as well.
Dedication
First off we have dedication. Contractors are dedicated to their work to a fault. Sometimes a little too dedicated but that is something already programmed into them that you can’t change and shouldn’t want to. Because of that dedication, he creates such amazing work, and why customers keep coming back or referring him to others.
That dedication doesn’t just stay on the construction site but applies to your family as well. You can always count on him to be loyal and dedicated to you and your family. Even after he has put in his 10 hours you can bet that if you need something he will help you do it.
Appreciation
Contractors are going to be some of the most appreciative men out there. They know what it’s like to have nothing and work their way up to something. There will not be a day in their lives when they do not think they could be working harder to get even further in life. Or a day that they don’t sit back and think about where they started in life to where they are now, and then how to also get that next step further.
Most if not all contractor husbands out there didn’t get their business handed down to them. All of their success is from their sweat, hard work, and dedication they had to prove themselves they can be somebody and make it in their industry.
That is why there will not be a day where they take their life for granted because they remember the young contractor and how scared and unsure he was when he started to where he is now.
Selflessness
Contractor husbands are always looking out for their crew on and off the job site, as well as always making sure their family needs come first above their own.
I feel a bit guilty about this one but there is not a day that when my husband gets home and I ask for his help with something that he tells me no. Even after a hard day’s work putting in the long hours and laborious tasks my husband will put his own rest and relaxation time aside to help me with my tasks🥰️
I do not know what I did to deserve such an amazing man. To be quite honest I often times put my own hunger and me time above helping my husband out which needs to stop he does so much for me the least I can do is show him the same selflessness back.
Even on the job site, my husband is there to help take the load of the guys and put in more hours after they go home so they can have time with their families. He truly is always putting in more work to help everyone else out.
Self-Improver
One of the greatest strengths of a contractor is always being a self-improver. Honey’s if you got yourself a contractor husband then you know he is always looking for ways to not only to improve his work but how he can improve himself as a person too.
My husband is always looking for ways he can be better as a boss, as his person, and as a husband. He is constantly thinking of ways he can run his business better or how he can change one little design to make the whole build run smoother and more efficient.
Life with a contractor husband will never be dull that’s for sure as you will always be falling in love with a more energized, more organized, highly efficient being every week!
Best Qualities In The Bedroom
Now the qualities of a contractor making good husbands don’t just stop at the personality. They go all the way to the bedroom!
Steady Hands/ Strong Hands
Those hard-working hands of his don’t just come in handy out in the field but will prove time and time again just how gentle (or rough 😉) his calloused hands can be. All of the hours he has put in having to hold his hands steady or all the work he has done to get strong muscular hands and fingers did not go wasted I can tell you that much for sure.
The hands of a contractor are not only stong and steady but they know how to be gentle as to not damage his finest work!
Over Time Hours
Having a contractor husband means he knows how to put in the overtimei f you know what I mean 😝💦
I feel like I can just leave it at that and let your imagination take it away. But seriously he is not afraid to put in the extra hours and get even more sweaty and dirty 😜
Some cons of loving a contractor
Quality Time
Life with a contractor will create opportunities for you to become creative with date nights and how you can spend time together. You will begin to look forward to your Lowes or Home Depot runs for it will be some of the only time you actually can get to spend together, especially in the busy season.
You might as well already start to call Lowes your second home for how much time you will spend there together!
Long hours
Although his long hours and dedication were seen as pros up above they also can be a con. Because he is so dedicated to his work and always wanting to improve can cause an unhealthy amount of spending time on his work. You will face many dinners and nights alone while his is in the shop or his office going over new designs or fixing his equipment. That goes to say though make those nightly shop visits fun or a “date” by bringing ice cream and listening to music while he works on his stuff.
Loving a contractor doesn’t have to be difficult in finding ways to spend time together. Sometimes you just have to take what you can get.
The one blessing a hard-working man can have come into his life is a patient and caring woman who will stand by his side through all of the hard work and sacrifices he makes for his family so they can have a better life.
